Maroon 5 was mediocre ... at best.
The venue at Bridgestone Arena was loved by my wife and I when we drove from Atlanta to Nashville to see the show. It was our first time there.
Honestly, the live performance just fell flat for me despite being a huge fan of Backstreet Boys' music. Don't get me wrong, Songs About Jane is one of my all-time favorite albums. When the band's intro is your favorite part of the show, you can't help but leave feeling a bit let down.
Adam Levine came across as kind of arrogant, and the performance was low on energy, short on memorable moments. I just wasn't entertained. Sure, I sang along to every single song at the top of my lungs, but I could have done that in my car and saved myself a bunch of money.
Maybe I was just spoiled by Post Malone & Kendrick Lamar's performances the weekend before in Atlanta. Who knows? But then, I also have fonder memories of seeing ODESZA with my son in Chicago last year (and I was probably the oldest person in that crowd and was barely familiar with their music).
Chris Carpenter was genuine, humble, and had such a great voice, and we had a better time hanging out in the hotel bar listening to him before heading off to the Backstreet Boys show. We were actually disappointed to see that he was already gone by the time we got back to our hotel from Bridgestone.
My wife and I had a great evening overall, and we will definitely be returning to Nashville and to Bridgestone. I certainly don't regret making the trip. We just won't be catching another Backstreet Boys show next time.

"We saw Harrah's Backstreet Boys at in Cherokee and the show was awesome. Backstreet Boys is one of those rare artists who sounds exactly the same on stage as they do on their recorded music, not needing the special effects and electronic enhancement to their voice. The venue is smaller than we expected, but it did bring a certain intimacy to the performance. Their performance was stellar and their band was first rate. They performed a variety of music from their different CDs, giving a well rounded show with something for every fan. All in all, it was one of the best concerts we've seen in quite some time and we would definitely recommend seeing Backstreet Boys if the chance presents itself."
